We decided to start with a monthly potluck, and fortunately found a
centrally located and comfortable place to meet in
the Fellowship Hall of the
San Leandro Community Church, one of the growing number of churches in the Bay
Area who
are supportive of gays and lesbians.
We’ve been holding monthly potlucks every month since then at noon on
the second Saturday of each month.
Following a potluck lunch and social hour, we
have a program. Sometimes a guest speaker or panel of speakers
will address
relevant, interesting, and useful topics. Sometimes we talk among ourselves,
sharing our stories and
opinions. Yet other times we have performers and
entertainers.
Our primary aim is to provide a safe and enjoyable place to meet,
socialize, and connect
with each other.
